PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
What people involved in the Parish Pastoral Council do:
The role of the Parish Pastoral Council is to collaborate
to establish the pastoral priorities of the parish and see that
various initiatives are followed through. The concept of the Parish
Pastoral Council is to draw on the gifts of all to facilitate the
growth and development of the parish and to contribute to the building
up of Christ's Kingdom.
At monthly meetings, the Parish Pastoral Council members
share in formation experiences, hear and discuss reports from parish
organizations and ministries, and plan for the future and for various
events, initiatives and activities.
Gifts that would be helpful in members of the Parish Pastoral Council:
- Faith-filled
- Generous
- Wiling to share ideas
- Good listener
- Open to learn
How to become involved in this ministry of leadership and service:
Members are elected at the Annual General Meeting each
Spring. Other members are appointed because they represent certain
ministries or organizations within the parish.
Formation and Training offered for this Ministry:
At each meeting, there is a formation session, focused on
some topic of interest or some faith issue. Members are offered input
and share discussion and reflection on that
issue.
